Mt. Gimli (Aug. 27, 2014)

Mt Gimli SE Ridge (5.10a  8 pitches)

The forecast looked good and steady so Rob and I hopped into his Subaru for a mini adventure to the Valhallas. With a long drive (7h) including a ferry crossing and a 4x4 gravel road, it felt like a real adventure. We camped in the parking lot and made the day trip back to the car in less than 12 hours. Although it was incredibly windy for the first few pitches, we had near perfect weather the entire day. What a wild line! The descent seemed unlikely, but within an hour we were easily back at the base of the route. Would I return? Absolutely!

Fellow hikers camped below Gimli and hanging out with the goats.
