Winter Cragging (Jan 22, 2014)

I had often heard the myth of the local hard-cores going rock climbing in Canmore in the middle of winter. This week, for the first time, I had the opportunity to get my sport rack out and experience it for myself. The verdict: it's not just a myth! With Chinook temps around +5C and not a cloud in the sky, I found it warmer climbing in January in the sun than in October in the shade. On Saturday we were climbing in t-shirts and tank-tops.

So elated from my Saturday outing I arranged to get Thursday off work and went up again, this time with Nancy, Michelle and Don. The temps were similar but the high cloud masked the sun and made it feel a bit more nippy. Still, it was a great day out!

A day out on rock is always a great day!
